  • Category description
    Balance of size and structure of the population in gminas was prepared on the basis of the National Population Censuses including changes connected with vital statistics (births and deaths) and migration of the population (for permanent residence and for temporary stay) and changes caused by administrative changes. The data on population in localities based on PESEL register. The data on registered marriages, births and deaths based on the reports of civil status offices. The data on divorces and separations based on the reports of courts. The data on internal and international migration for permanent residence are obtained from the Ministry of the Interior and Administration. Population projection based the results of survey conducted by the Statistics Poland.
  • Group description
    Migration for permanent residence (internal and international). From 2006 the source of data on registration for permanent residence in gmina and on registration of departure for permanent residence abroad is the PESEL register.The source of data on temporary migration is statistical survey conducted by the Statistics Poland in every gmina in Poland - as of December 31 each year.
  • Subgroup description
    In this subgroup, data on internal migration (inflow/outflow) for Poland in total (including for towns in general) and for the voivodships: Dolnośląskie, Łódzkie, Mazowieckie and Wielkopolskie (in total and in towns) take also into account migration within the cities (between districts), which took place in: Wrocław, Łódź, Warsaw and Poznań. Therefore, these data differ from the information presented in detailed tables concerning internal migration. In the case of tables of population, vital statistics and migration since 2015 are published balance only for the first half and year. There are not disseminated quarterly tables about the population (I, II, III, I-III and IV quarter). The reason for the lack of quarterly tables are delays in the transfer of data from Registration Civil Office to the statistics, and consequently the lack for each quarter of full information on the number of facts of vital statistics and migration. These delay are caused by the implementation (since March 2015), a new system of the Ministry of Interior for the registration of civil status acts (computer system Źródło). Data not available on international migrations for the year 2015.
