    Since the year 2004 - according to Ministry of Health guidelines cardiology includes intensive supervision of cardiology, and for chronic patients includes palliative medicine; As of 2014 data on palliative medicine are presented in the group Stationary in-patient health care facilities; Surgical wards included divisions: general surgery, surgery for children, trauma surgery-orthopaedic surgery, neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, urology and maxillo-facial surgery and infectious branches include: infectious disease units and observation - infectious. Since 2008. Data regarding beds in general hospitals is given together with beds and incubators for newborns, no places in day wards. The data from 2012 in the field of general hospitals include establishments Ministry of National Defense and Ministry of the Interior and do not include hospitals in penal institutions (Ministry of Justice). In 2013. figures do not include two hospitals in Wielkopolska (Poznań city about 420 beds, powiat poznański about 180 beds). From 2017, addiction treatment wards have replaced the addiction therapy wards, while the functions of the chronically ill units have been taken over by hospice and palliative care wards. The number of wards includes all wards within the hospital structure, including those conducting day care activities. From 2019, the method of classifying hospitals into daily and stationary hospitals (number of hospitals) is based on the declarations of medical entities in the Report on the activities of the MZ-29 general hospital. The total number of beds also includes beds in the following wards: emergency department, one-day treatment, other wards (m.in. emergency rooms).
