A day-support centre supports the care and education functions of the family by providing daycare and assistance to the child in learning, organisation of leisure time, development of interests, organization of entertainment and sport classes, if possible material assistance and meals. It conducts permanent work with the child's family. The facility operates all year round, on all working days, at least 4 hours a day, at hours adapted to the needs of children and parents. In the case of a small number of children requiring care, the number of days and hours of operation of the facility can be adapted to a local needs. An individual work plan, a residence card, a card of participation in specialist classes and examination sheets are kept for each child. The head of the centre is also an educator. Stay in the day-support centres is voluntary and free of charge, and the child's parents or guardians should actively participate in education activities organised in the centre.
