  • Group description
Since January 2012, the foster care of a child (statutory - care surrogate) is divided into familial and institutional. Until now, there were foster parents and childcare centers. The institutional care, outside care and educational institutions also include preadoption centers and regional centers of care and therapy.
  • Subgroup description
The intervention centre provides the child with: 24/7 emergency care for the duration of a crisis situation; education adapted to his/her age and developmental possibilities; care and education until the return to the natural family or placement in a foster family, adoptive family, family centre or socialisation centre; prepares a diagnosis of the child's psychophysical condition and life situation, family relationships and determines the indications for further work with the child; prepares a psychological and pedagogical diagnosis of a child and a diagnosis of his/her family situation for the needs of a family court. The centre accepts children from the age of 13, in exceptional cases younger children. The stay may not be longer than 3 months (it may be extended by another 3 months if the court proceedings to regulate the child's legal situation are pending). Starting from 1 January 2012, foster care for a child (statutory foster care) is divided into family and institutional care. The family care consists of foster families and orphanages. The institutional care, apart from care and education centers, also includes pre-adoption centers and regional care and therapy centers. The loss of residents means the number of residents who ceased being residents in the reporting year.
