  • Category description
The land data are listed by land use types. Land use is understood as actual land management. The presented information concerns agricultural crop and animal production. The data about sown area refer to the harvested area of respective crops cultivated in the main crop.
  • Group description
Data collected as part of the Integrated Farm Statistics (IFS) survey project, co-financed by the European Union. The group of listed entities included agricultural farms of natural persons, legal persons and organizational units without legal personality. The survey IFS 2023 was carried out in Poland from June 1 to August 14, 2023. The presented data on the number of employees and work inputs have been compiled according to the seat of the holder of the agricultural farm. The seat of the holder of a private agricultural holding is the address of residence of the holder. This address is not always the same as the address of permanent residence. The seat of the holder of a legal person or an organizational unit without legal personality is the seat of legal person or the seat of the local unit conducting agricultural activities.
  • Subgroup description
Due to the large share of part-time work and seasonal employment of temporary workers, contracted workers, persons working within the confines of neighbourly assistance and other employed persons, labour input in agriculture was expressed in conventional (Annual Work Units AWU). Annual Work Unit (AWU) is an equivalent of a full-time work. It is calculated by dividing the number of hours worked during a year by the annual number of hours equivalent to a fulltime work. In Poland, 2120 hours of work per year have been assumed as the equivalent of a full-time work, i.e. 265 working days, 8 hours of work per day. When calculating the labour input expressed in AWU (in accordance with the Eurostat methodology), the condition was kept that 1 person may not have more than 1 AWU, even if in reality he/she works longer.
