  • Category description
    Up to reference period 2001 the road vehicles data are based on the report T-03; from reference period 2002 onwards the road vehicles data are based on administrative source ( district vehicle registers data base). Until 2001 the operated railway lines data were based on the PKP reports, since 2002 the data have been based on the reports of PKP PLK and other managers of railway infrastructure, including light rail infrastructure (in accordance with Eurostat methodology, the data on operated railway lines in Poland published in Eurostat database have excluded light rail since 2018). The air transport data are based on LOT, PL reports. The information about postal offices to 2001 including telecommunication service offices. Telecommunications and post data come from UKE (UKE RT 02 and UKE P 01 forms).
  • Group description
    Data on road motor vehicles and tractors, mopeds as well as non-motor vehicles registered as of 31 December have been presented until 2001 according to the register maintained by voivodes, while between 2002 and 2008 - by starosts, presidents of cities and mayors, while between 2009 and 2020 - according to central vehicle register maintained by the Ministry of Interior and Administration, since 2021 according to central vehicle register maintained by the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. Data does not include vehicles being devoid of car registration, and up to 2010 - also vehicles having temporary permission given by the ending of reference year. Temporary permission is passed by about 30 daily period with the aim of take care of formality be connected with vehicle registration and received ordinary registration book. For comparison we give the difference in the number of vehicles registered in the Poland total, taking into account temporary permission (in 2011), and without the temporary permission is a total of over 330 thousand road vehicles, including passenger cars - more than 250 thousand and trucks - more than 45 thousand.
