Industrial waste (report OS-6). Consumption of water. Nature and landscape protection (reports OS-7, SG-01). Generally accessible green areas and green areas of the housing estate (report SG-01, M-01). Outlays on fixed assets serving environmental protection and water management and tangible effects of investments in environmental protection and water management (Annex to the report: F-03, SP and SG-01 - fixed assets).
  • Group description
Nature protection involves the preservation, sustainable use and renewal of resources, formations and elements of nature: wild plants, animals and fungi; protected species of plants, animals and fungi; migratory animals; nature habitats; habitats threatened with extinction, rare and protected species of plants, animals and fungi; formations of animate and inanimate nature as well as remains of fossil plants and animals; landscape; rural and urban green lands; trees and shrubs outside the forest. Nature can be protected in situ, i.e. in its natural place of occurrence or ex situ, i.e. outside its natural place of occurrence (e.g. in zoos, botanical gardens, oceanariums). The first of these methods is implemented by establishing forms of nature protection, which are: national parks, nature reserves, landscape parks, protected landscape areas, Natura 2000 sites, nature monuments, documentation sites, ecological areas, nature and landscape complexes, species protection of plants, animals and fungi. Biodiversity is the diversity of living organisms occurring in ecosystems, within and between species, and the diversity of ecosystems. Preserving biodiversity is one of the goals of nature protection.
  • Subgroup description
The Natura 2000 sites can extend to some or all of the areas and objects covered by other forms of nature protection. Data on the area Nature 2000 sites (presented in the Local Data Bank, the LDB) do not include information on areas located at sea. The absolute area of the Natura 2000 sites transferred annually to the European Commission (the EC) is the result of spatial analysis of summing the vector boundary layer in software belonging to spatial information systems. The value of the area transferred to the EC (including areas located at sea) differs in relation to the sums of the areas of individual voivodeships and the sea due to the dynamics of state borders (e.g. the eastern and western borders shift along with the progressive meandering of the rivers constituting the border; their current shape is different than at the time when the oldest Natura 2000 sites were designated). Work on specifying the course of the boundaries of the designated Natura 2000 sites is still in progress, so the areas of the designated sites may change in the future.
