  • Group description
Geodetic area, data of the Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography. Comparing to the previous year, area of Poland increased by 121,106 ha (from 31,272,030 ha to 31,393,136 ha). This value is the balance of the increase observed in pomorskie voivodship (+121,109 ha) and the decrease at the level of 3 ha in zachodniopomorskie voivodship. Change in the area of the country is related, as in previous year, to adjusting the boundaries of territorial units to the baseline of the territorial sea, resulting from the Regulation of the Council of Ministers of 13 January 2017 on the detailed course of the baseline, the external border of the territorial sea and the external border of the adjacent zone of the Republic of Poland (Journal of Laws of 2017, item 183). The effect of the implementation of regulation mentioned above is the introduction of appropriate changes to the land and building register (hereinafter: EGiB), which, in accordance with section 6(1)(3) of the Regulation of the Council of Ministers of 16 July 2021 on the national register of boundaries and areas of territorial division units of the country (Journal of Laws of 2021, item 1373). is the basis for updating the data of the national register of boundaries and areas of territorial division units of the country (hereinafter: PRG). Changes in this regard were introduced in 2022, and mainly consisted in including the Bay of Puck and part of the Bay of Gdańsk in internal sea waters, dividing these waters and assigning them in the EGiB to territorial division units adjacent to them. As a result, within the borders of pomorskie voivodship, the greatest changes were made to pucki powiat (+28,732 ha) and nowodworski powiat (+24,003 ha) and cities with powiat status: Gdańsk (+41,713 ha), Gdynia (+25,631 ha) and Sopot (+1,040 ha).
