From 2008 beds and incubators for newborns are included in total number of beds. By 2011, the number of hospitals does not include a branch. Since 2012, in connection with the introduction of the act on medical activities, data on the number of hospitals include facilities that until 2011 were treated as branches. The data from 2012 in the field of general hospitals include the establishment of Defense and the Interior Ministry and do not include hospitals in penal institutions (Ministry of Justice). In 2013 data do not include information from two hospitals in the Wielkopolska Voivodeship (the city of Poznan about 420 beds, powiat poznanski about 180 beds). From 2019, the method of classifying hospitals into daily and stationary hospitals (number of hospitals) is based on the declarations of medical entities in the Report on the activities of the MZ-29 general hospital.
