    From 2020, the results of the National Population and Housing Census 2021 have been the basis for the population balance and structure. Therefore, the data and indicators relating to the size and structure of the population (sex and age groups) from 2020 have been recalculated in accordance with the balance prepared on the basis of the results of the Census 2021. Balance of size and structure of the population in gminas was prepared on the basis of the National Population Censuses including changes connected with vital statistics (births and deaths) and migration of the population (for permanent residence and for temporary stay) and changes caused by administrative changes. The data on population in localities based on PESEL register. The data on registered marriages, births and deaths based on the reports of civil status offices. The data on divorces and separations based on the reports of courts. The data on internal and international migration for permanent residence are obtained from the Ministry of the Interior and Administration. Population projection based the results of survey conducted by the Statistics Poland.
  • Group description
    The government programme "Family 500 plus", launched in April 2016, is a long-term support addressed primarily to natural families, but also to family and institutional foster care. Data source - Ministry of Family and Social Policy. Benefits from the "Family 500 plus" programme: • Child-raising benefit - since 1 July 2019, has been granted to every child until 18 years old, regardless of family income; from 1 April 2016 to 30 June 2019, it was available to parents or guardians for each child up to the age of 18, regardless of the income for the second and next child, and in the case of income not exceeding 800 PLN per person, also for the first or only child. For families with a disabled child, the income criterion was higher - PLN 1200 per person. The benefit is paid in the amount of PLN 500 net. • Child-raising supplement - the right to reciving the supplement is granted to a foster family and the person running a foster home. Lump sum supplement - the right to the supplement is granted to the director of a care and education centre family type. • Supplement equal child-raising benefit is directed to other institutional foster care centres. All supplements are paid in the amount of 500 PLN net, under the Act on supporting family and foster care system, and are transferred to each placed child up to the age of 18. From June 1, 2022, child-raising benefit is also paid to children placed in foster care.The existing supplements for children placed in foster care were paid until May 31, 2022, and were then replaced by a child-rising benefit. The data for 2022 include total expenses for child-raising benefits and supplements. Since 1 January 2024, the amount of the benefit is PLN 800 per month per child.
