Animals stock (cattle, sheep, goats, horses, pigs, poultry) in conversion units in LSU. The livestock unit, abbreviated as LU (or sometimes as LSU - Livestock Standard Unit.), means a standard measurement unit that allows the aggregation of the various categories of livestock (various species, sex and age) in order to enable them to be compared. In order to convert the livestock in physical head into livestock unit (LSU), the following coefficients were applied: cattle - bovines in total, less than 1 year old - 0.40; bull calves and heifers in total, aged 1-2 - 0.70; female cattle aged 2 years or more - 1.0; heifers aged 2 years or more - 0.80; dairy cows - 1.0, suckling cows - 0.80, pigs - piglets up to 20 kg - 0.027; sows in total - 0.50; other pigs in total (piglets with a weight of 20-50 kg, boars and young boars with a weight of 50 kg or more, pigs for slaughter with a weight of 50 kg or more, i.e. porkers) - 0.30, sheep in total - 0.10, goats in total - 0.10, horses in total - 0.80, poultry, i.e. broilers, hens and adult roosters in total, intended for slaughter - 0.007; laying hens in total - 0.014; turkeys, ducks, geese and other poultry (except for ostriches) in total - 0.030; ostriches - 0.35, rabbits in total - 0.020. Since 2010 introduced a new definition of a agricultural holding. Differences in the total area of agricultural holdings and agricultural land in 2010 are the result of changes in the definition of the agricultural holding, according to which, farms do not include holders of agricultural land which are not engaged in agricultural activities and the holders of up to 1 ha of agricultural land engaged in agricultural activities on a small scale.
